This policy explains what information FitPals Los Angeles (“FitPals,” “we,” “us”) collects through fitpalsla.com and while providing our services, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you request a consultation, you may give us:
- Your name, phone number, email address, and building or cross streets
- How you heard about us
- Details about your pet: name, breed, age, vaccination status, flea prevention, spay or neuter status, energy level, behavior goals, and any notes you add
- Your preferred plan, walk days, and consultation time
When you become a client, we may also collect home or building access details, your pet’s veterinarian and health information, and billing details. Payments are processed by PayPal, so we do not store your full card or bank details.
Information from our services
During walks and visits we create GPS routes, photos, videos, and notes about your pet to send you updates.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider and the services embedded in our pages (a Vimeo video player and Google Fonts) may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit. We do not use advertising cookies or sell this information.
How we use information
- To respond to consultation requests and contact you
- To assess your pet, place them in the right group, and provide our services safely
- To send walk and visit updates, photos, and reports
- To schedule, invoice, and collect payment
- To improve our services and website
- To meet legal obligations and protect the safety of pets, clients, and our team
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only:
- With service providers who help us run the business, such as our form delivery service (FormSubmit), payment processor (PayPal), scheduling and walk-reporting tools, and website hosting. They may use the information only to provide their services to us.
- In an emergency, such as sharing your pet’s details with a veterinarian.
- When required by law or to protect rights and safety.
- If the business changes hands, as part of a merger or sale, under this policy.
Photos of your pet
We love sharing pack photos. We may post photos and videos of pets on our website and social media. We do not post your name, address, or building. If you would rather we not share your pet, email us and we will stop and remove existing posts we control.
How long we keep information
We keep client information while you use our services and for a reasonable period afterward for records, billing, and legal purposes. Consultation requests that do not become clients are deleted when they are no longer needed. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including keeping home access details private and limited to the team members who need them. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Your California privacy rights
California residents can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we have collected about you and how we use and share it
- Delete your personal information
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Not sell or share your personal information (we do not sell or share it)
We will not treat you differently for making a request. To make one, email info@fitpalsla.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act on it. We honor these requests for all of our clients, wherever they live.
Under California’s “Shine the Light” law, you can ask whether we shared personal information with third parties for their direct marketing. We do not.
Do Not Track
Our website does not track visitors across other sites, so it does not change its behavior in response to Do Not Track browser signals.
Children
Our website and services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
